Dear CASH BROWN and all the exciting artists connected to this name,

Do you have some sort of magazine that you are part of ? I’ve actually never heard of you because I am an artist from Melbourne who never went to painting school.( Althogh I did do a B.A. from Melbourne Uni in the 1980s folllowed by T.O.P. Art at Prahran Tafe followed by two years of an Art and Design Degree at Chisolm Institute now Monash University etc)

I have been working, living life and entering a few competitions. In 2003 I was finalist in the Portia Geach Portrait Prize, Sydney with a portrait of Dame Elisabeth Murdoch. In 2005 I held my most important show to date entitled “Women of Achievement”( A series of 18 portraits of Australian women across the socio-political spectrum). Last year I was a Gallery Assitant at the National Portarait Gallery Canberra for six months then by good luck I managed to snap up a studio at M16 where I am flourishing!

Would love to hear much more about all there recommended artists. Are they Sydney, Australian, Overseas artists ? They all have the most incredibly beautiful names- especially Felix Gonzales-Torres. Felix is one of my favourite names, I think it means “happiness” ( from the Latin).

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards Rosemary Beatrice Simonette Macindoe
