There’s no denying Dr. Michael Pilon maintains an odd website. The Ottawa based dentist hosts a number of dancing animated teeth gifs, a creepy sultry set of lips, and a large picture of someone very upset about something. The real treasure of this week’s Best Link Ever though, lies not in the endless fascination of 1.0 aesthetic websites, but the unique charm of Pilon’s audio welcome. Here, he explains that readers will not only find a lot of resources about dentistry but Ottawa, the city in which he’s based. Having spent enough time in Ottawa to know it’s not a city I want to spend more time in than I have to, I wasn’t particularly swayed by his links, but I at least came to think more websites should include audio welcomes. C’mon Paddy! This link is pretty awesome, but you’re comparing apples and oranges here. Let’s see Pilon’s TV ads. Let’s see Pilon’s books on Amazon. Let’s see Pilon’s SUBWAY ads. Oh wait, Ottawa doesn’t even have a subway!
I’ve got a lot of respect for Canada’s capital and I’ve only had really fun times there. I admire Pilon for his hometown pride. But this guy’s scope is small. He wouldn’t hack it in New York. Just sayin.

Hey guys what a neat surprise…now I should pass on my snow sculpture for the closing of the Olypics 🙂 Hey no subway but some of the best biking in North America…okay I was hit on the bike a year ago but what the heck 🙂 150 km of paths, hills nearby, several rivers and a UN heritage site to bike along…
For young folks there is nothing like Montreal, I was a student there…Safe, pub close late bars…etc
But we do have some neat festivals, small compared to some places but hey a 12 day Bluesfest, jazz, Winterlude, And a pileof stuff in between…
And hey folks how many of you can skate to work ? Okay how many would really want to 🙂
