This gets to the heart of the matter, “Despite Mr. Fairey's apparent good intentions about social action and individual creativity, this exhibition reveals the point at which lack of originality curdles into visual cynicism. It is not a pretty sight.
After this show, Deitch Projects will close and Jeffrey Deitch, its owner and guiding light, will become director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. I wish he had found a more assuring way to say goodbye.”
