Comment Issues – Please Stay Tuned

We’re having some problems with the new comment system. Older comments are disappearing from recent threads. Nothing personal, we love your contributions. Paddy is working on the problem and missing comments will be manually replaced tomorrow. In the meantime please head over to dump.fm (unless you’re at work–it might not be safe), where the little guy above came from (in particular, chomps-chud‘s page).

Our series on fine art, in art galleries, will resume when things are calmer on the technical end.

Update: Have been advised that the GIF above of Master Belch from the SNES game Earthbound was originally dumped by frankhats.

Update 2: And it wasn’t just “dumped” (found, posted) by frankhats, but is an animation he made from existing still images. Apparently the Master Belch character comes in several slime colors. frankhats found smaller, avatar-sized versions of two types and then turned them into a two-frame animation that loops rapidly and appears to vibrate. He also increased the image size so the pixels are more visible.

Personally, I don't really like the login comment system. I understand where it's coming from, but since I have to shuffle a couple different "identities" it's kind of pain to login and logout at different places that share login infrastructure (basically, one acct for chatting about comics… a lot, that links back to my little comic site and one for art and everything else that links back to my personal site)

Wish there was a way to solidly link them and select which to display as/link to in some kind of drop down.
