Daniel Gordon, Thiry-One Days & Ruby Sky Stiler, Special Project
Date: Saturday, July 17th 2010Saturday, August 28th 2010
Venue: Callicoon Fine Arts, 27 Lower Main St.

For those who didn’t make it to NADA’s County Affair, there is still a reason to get out of the city and up to Callicoon, NY: Thirty-One Days. This exhibition of photographs by Daniel Gordon is the result of a daunting task: creating a new work for every day of the month of July 2009. Gordon’s work, which was recently featured in PS1’s Greater New York and MoMa’s 2009 New Photography show, is created from images downloaded from the internet, printed, reassembled into complicated and often cheeky tableaus, and then rephotographed. Alongside these 31 photographs are three new works by Ruby Sky Stiler, whose elegantly fragmented sculptures borrow from classical antiquity.
