Scrum: Let’s Make Anton Vidokle a Wikipedia Page

Come on, now.

For years, philosophers have struggled to answer the most basic of questions: does knowledge exist?

Thanks to the internet, we now know: Yes, so long as it’s on Wikipedia.

You use it, we use it, everybody uses it. Unfortunately, though, Wikipedia’s contemporary art section is in woeful disrepair, and at a time when Wikipedia is struggling to retain editors, that’s not going to get better anytime soon. So let’s fix it. Each week, we’ll find somebody whose online identity needs a makeover or doesn’t exist at all, and we’ll invite AFC readers to help fill in the blanks; we promise to do our part, too. It won’t take long, and at the end we’ll have something to hang on our collective refrigerator. We call the project “Scrum”, and we think of it as doing the whole world a solid.

So who’s first? Anton Vidokle. The e-flux founder is well-known and widely respected as an artist, curator, and writer, but you’d never know it from a casual Google search. Since Artreview’s Power 100 – the most meaningful meaningless list in the art world – just named him the 5th biggest fish in the sea, we figure it’s high time he get a little internet love. I’ve created a skeleton page, so we have something to work with, and I’ll be adding edits all week. 1 page, 7 days, 168 hours. The clock starts… now!

Ha, I drew up a page for him years ago back when he was just a mortal artist.  I guess it was removed?

I wanted to write something about his web presence versus my own (which i try to make whorish) stating something like how his is very elusive but then i realized his is just professional and committed to things like reviews and e-flux and what not. his isn’t social, that’s for sure, but he’s out there. Anton, you’re out there (:
