Color Wheel is a series in which we identify a trending color in art for the week and post a daily image that illustrates its popularity. This week’s color is purple. Readers are invited to submit images throughout the week and we’ll post the best ones we receive.
Great discoveries continue to be found thanks to Color Wheel. This week, for example, we spent a week looking at purple, and are forced to conclude that it is, in fact, not a trending color. We’ve found plenty of partially purplish artworks, but really, at this moment in history, it’s difficult to find artworks that are all-over purple. This horse was the best we could do at Art Toronto, and still, the breed’s not completely purple.
Next week, we’re going with blue. That color, we realized after scouring the art fairs, is totally trending.
