Yes, Reddit didn’t exist in 1999. This GIF of Bill Clinton approving a beige VGA monitor happened at a so-called internet townhall — I guess at the time, there was great cyberspace idealism in this .gov re-staging of a Roosevelt fireside chat. The Clinton Library recently released the event’s full video, and Gawker’s Matt Novak aptly calls it as the first presidential AMA, complete with a treasure trove of reaction GIFs. This is obviously one of them, but the rest — including Clinton laughing at a computer glitch, waving his hands at a screen, and so on and so forth, are worthwhile.
