Contemporary Art Daily’s spread of photos and video from “Made in LA” includes Amanda Ross-Ho’s Untitled Satellite Image, in which women discuss the subtle movement of a spinning ball (2014) next to Bob Flanagan and Sheree Rose’s Nailed, in which Flanagan nails his balls to a piece of wood (1989). - An artist in Alberta has covered his 800 acre property with artwork and copyrighted it in an effort to stop oil corporations from drilling on his land. Apparently, a document his lawyer drew up claims that any disturbance of the top six inches of land constitutes a copyright infringement. This makes no sense to us. - Columbia visual arts student Emma Sulkowicz will carry her mattress with her everywhere until her alleged rapist is brought to justice. She claims that she was raped in her own bed, and she’s one of 23 students who filed a federal complaint against the school for mishandling rape cases. Two other students have claimed that Sulkowicz’s alleged rapist raped them, too. Alleged rapist is still attending Columbia. [New York Magazine]
