- Sad times. The New York City Opera, in absence of a last minute, multi-million dollar gift will have to close its doors today. That’s terrible news, but word has it that the Opera was administratively burdened and desperately needed an organizational reboot. Perhaps the only way it can succeed, is to close its doors and reopen with a new identity and internal structure. [The New York Times]
