- Bill Gates equivocates donating money to build a new wing for a museum rather than spending the money on preventing blindness, so inflicting blindness. “The moral equivalent is, we’re going to take 1 per cent of the people who visit this [museum] and blind them,” he says. “Are they willing, because it has the new wing, to take that risk? Hmm, maybe this blinding thing is slightly barbaric.” Apparently the billionaire has spent 30.8 million on Leonardo da Vinci’s Codex Leicester and erected an opulent campus for his charity though, so I guess Gates doesn’t apply his logic equally. - According to an anonymous source, the U.S. is considering pressing Germany for the return of nazi-confiscated art works confiscated from a Munich apartment to their rightful owners.
