GIFs are not typically associated with traditional art forms like painting. Even though there is certainly an enormous range of GIF art, most GIFs have a distinctively futuristic or, at the very least, contemporary look derived from a world of Emojis, 3-D animation and viral videos. However, artist and animator Lauren Gregory shatters this assumed GIF aesthetic with her unexpected and refreshing oil painting GIFs.
