I had hoped to publish something on the PS1 Alternative Media discussion on Friday when it might actually be of use to people who plan to attend events in advance of two hours before it opens, but somethings things don’t always work out the way we want them to. Still, for those of us who opperate by the seat of our pants, this late publishing may be of some use. Due the weekendy nature of this post, I’ve lifted this straight from the press release, trusting that God will forgive me for this small evil deed.

Presented and co-organized with innovative publications from New York and nationwide, Fine Print: Alternative Media at P.S.1 is a series of programs involving panel discussions, readings, lectures, music, performance, and play. The focus of Influence magazine is the nature of artistic ideas — how they are generated, play off one another, and transform. Each yearly issue, exquisitely designed, elaborates on these themes with a discursive array of imagery and conversation. Influence editor Gil Blank leads a roundtable discussion on the relationship between photography, independent publishing, and the artist as an individual. Participants include photographer Anne Collier, curator and critic Charlotte Cotton, independent curator and Parkett senior editor Cay Sophie Rabinowtiz, and P.S.1 Curatorial Advisor Neville Wakefield.
