Blogger and artist Martin Bromirski visited the Miami fairs last year, and posted a series of photos of gallerists with his paintings. This year, the blogger remains in Virginia, but claims to have met Jerry Saltz at Art Basel: Stuffy’s. As far as I can tell Stuffy’s is the name of either a diner or a movie, though I’m not sure it matters which. It is a two part tender love story that shows the enduring bond that art brings into an artist’s life. Read it with a tissue in your hand people.
The Brooklyn Museum has been doing a great job of managing their web presence lately, as evidenced by the popular Ron Mueck email Q&A, and now their newly uploaded podcast of the Graffiti Women discussion panel that occurred mid November. I won’t be able to listen to the discussion until I return home, but I have to say I’m thrilled it’s online, because I wasn’t able to attend the event.
MonkeyTown had their holiday party and benefit last night. I was otherwise occupied here, so I unfortunately was not able to send a shout out. If you missed the chance to give to this worthy cause as a result of my poor diligence, do not fret. I am sure they will be more than happy to accept further donations even though the event has passed.
