Yes, the allure of Miami is undeniable, so for those of you who can’t get enough of those 12 dollar drinks during art fair season, let me recommend the affordable Avalon Hotel. The hotel is right on the beach, but has the advantage of being slightly removed from the Miami Convention Center. This means that when you return to your room in the evening you are not still surrounded by drunk fair attendees. If you are lucky, you may also get a room with a view onto the water.
