Amy Talluto and Fiona Gardner make an unexpected match in Black and White Gallery’s “Matrix-meets-Impressionism” titled exhibition En Plein Air RELOADED, opening this Thursday. Despite an unfortunate name suggesting a lame collection of early 2000 cyberpunks, the show actually brings together a promising assortment of emerging artists who use parks, landscape, and greenery as inspiration. Readers who attend this Thursday’s opening should take a close look at Gardner’s photographs which are characterized by their great detail, and fine composition. I’ll also be keeping an eye out for Talluto’s paintings whose work I was first made aware of by Christopher Reiger at Hungry Hyaena. I don’t get to have an opinion on this work since I haven’t seen it yet, but I like that arrives with a recommendation.
Participating artists include: Claudia Hart, Amy Talluto, Fiona Gardner, Kim Holleman, Michael Van den Besslaar, and Andrew Casner.
