Anyone in Chelsea last night likely saw the giant line outside the Chelsea Museum;  the opening reception for last year’s Terna Prize winners drew quite a crowd.  I didn’t make it inside the building on account of heat, though earlier in the week an announcement for their latest competition graced my inbox.  Established to support contemporary artists with a focus on Italian artists, the prize brings with it a few caveats.  For one thing, I’m not sure how an artist establishes their prize will “contribute to a new virtuous relationship among businesses, the art world and public authorities through the interconnection between culture and economy,” and even if they could, would that be good?  Also, the images on the Chelsea Museum website [pictured above] don’t exactly inspire confidence.  Those who make “scary” art should definitely consider applying.

Details after the jump (Including information for artists living in Italy).
