This year’s Art Wynwood Fair returns with a little something special; a Valentine’s Day VIP Preview. The evening comes complete with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and will mark the start of what is certain to be a wonderful President’s Day weekend filled with some of the world’s most exciting art. The fair runs from the 14th-18th, and is poised for another groundbreaking year of cutting edge, emerging, contemporary, and modern works.
Art Wynwood will have 70 international galleries participate, and they anticipate over 25,000 attendees will visit the fair.
Art Wynwood continues to shine a spotlight on Midtown Miami and the Wynwood Arts District as a flourishing international cultural destination and the epicenter of Miami’s art, fashion, design, and culinary communities. The Wynwood neighborhood is a must-see section of Miami for any street art enthusiast, a quality captured by the fair. Two special projects by Wynwood Walls are sure to catch your eye, including a stunning wraparound installation suspended above the VIP Lounge by famed artist Jesse Geller. The installation is dually commissioned by Jessica Goldman CEO of Goldman Properties and Art Wynwood, in honor of the late Tony Goldman.
In addition to the installation by Jesse Geller, Wynwood Walls will also present a curated exhibit featuring specially commissioned lenticulars. We’re particularly excited about this feature, as we view this medium as an analogue to animated GIFs. The lenticulars will feature the original paintings by selected Wynwood Walls artists installed in the pass through areas of Art Wynwood. Artists participating include: Aiko, Ron English, Logan Hicks, Futura, Swoon, Kenny Scharf, and How & Nosm.
