Tue Greenfort’s show might not be green (have we been? No). But she’s earned this.
Her current solo show at the Sculpture Center (and her first US solo show) is the latest in her long study of wetlands and environmental systems. (You may know her from “The Worldly House” of Documenta). This chapter takes a look at New York’s nether-region “Garbage Bay”, the marshland Jamaica Bay, which is overlooked by the JFK airport. I’ve always wanted to know what’s on those islands, so I’ll be heading to the show.
When you’re up there, you’ll see that 5 Pointz has been whitewashed. So here’s some green 5 Pointz projections for good measure.
