Color Wheel is a series in which we identify a trending color in art, and post a daily image that illustrates its popularity. This week’s color is red.
Thanks to art, we now get to envision what Hell might look like during Christmastime. Abby Lloyd’s show “The Yule Lord’s Workshop”, at New York City, advertises characters such as the “Catalonian Pooping Log” and “Krampus the Yule Lord”. This comes with a picture of Santa splayed out in either a BDSM wall or dismemberment (plus, some bonory Santa shots on Lloyd’s site). You get where this is going, and we appreciate the spirit:
O come all ye unfaithful, miserable and rotten, to celebrate Christmas at “The Yule Lord’s Workshop!” The workshop is an installation featuring deviant folkloric creatures such as Krampus the Yule Lord, Black Peter and the Catalonian Pooping Log. There will be a plethora of pungent eggnog, edible snow and lumps of coal to go around. The Yule Lord’s Workshop will be hosted by Krampus’s exceptionally bad Little Helper. And remember, if you even think about doing something naughty, Krampus will come and beat you into submission!
Best press release ever.
