If you came to last year’s Wienerfest, chances are you ate one of Jay Batlle’s hot dogs shaped into a Jeff Koons balloon animal. While delicious, the dogs were stuck together with tiny toothpicks, so you had to be really careful about biting into them to avoid getting speared in the cheek. Intentional or not, there’s a certain brutality there and in his Art F City auction piece, which is reflected in this statement from his website:
