The website for the 2013 International Teletext Art Festival has plenty of decent riffs on teletext. But possibly the most deeply affecting is, like the medium, the most bare bones. Marc Lee‘s “Breaking News” is just blinking: it blinks, therefore, it lives. Like an old neon light from the 1980s, or a rickety WordPress platform which is plagued with daily crashes, “Breaking News” is the brink of irrelevance that is life on the Internet. This is followed by the phrase “Im Winter ist es kalt.” Translation: “In winter it is cold”. [h/t Michael Connor for Rhizome]
