Legal battles don’t take vacations. In May, Save Cooper Union filed a lawsuit against Cooper Union for financial mismanagement; this suit also calls for an immediate injunction against charging tuition. Tomorrow, you can find out how their case is going.
The Committee to Save Cooper Union will finish their oral arguments against Cooper Union’s board of trustees tomorrow afternoon; afterwards, at 1:00 p.m., they’re holding a rally and talk outside the New York State Supreme Court. Just beyond the courthouse steps, they’ll be joined by State Senator Brad Holyman and the lawyers representing them, Emery Celli Brinkerhoff & Abady, LLP—all to catch you up to date.
With the semester just weeks away (September 3), tomorrow could be the day when we find out if free education still has a chance to survive.
