Here’s a great way to whittle away some work hours: Windows93 is a net art project that has all the programs you used to load on your PC. That means a defragger that never gets past 3 percent, the oldest GIF on the Internet, and a virus that dissolves your desktop. The only thing missing? Nethack.
Really invest some time to dick around on this. You can play old Solitaire. Download weird PNGs and discover pop-up advice from a wizard. (DON’T CLICK THE HYDRA.) They’ve even included the telnet ASCII Star Wars animation, which you can watch by clicking through the “movies” file.
Best of all? You can navigate web 2.0 through the Cat Explorer browser. There’s really no need to ever go back to Chrome.
