Art gets some TV exposure!
Last night’s Law and Order: SVU features celebrity suspect “Scott Russo,” an “actor-slash-painter-slash-philosopher who, in his free time, is trying to end climate change.” In the episode “Agent Provocateur,” a teen rape victim exchanges flirty DMs with Scott Russo (who is clearly a James Franco parody) on Instagram. Detectives track Scott Russo to “Abstract Space Gallery” in a shady-looking version of DUMBO, where they remove a paper bag from his head. (Shia LaBeouf!) Neon art also makes a brief appearance on a gallery wall: #ACCUSED.
Here’s what we’ve learned: art is pulling out a video camera and arbitrarily filming. Art is an Instagram account thing. Art is a “meta-meme thing.”
