Step One: After you open the .ZIP file.
For those of us who grew up playing text-based games, or spent a fair amount of time gazing at the sublime, neon green text in MS-DOS. There’s still sublime moments to be had with text-based games. In game designer Porpentine‘s new text-based game, Foldscape, you can choose to explore a desecrated monastery, the village post office, or a cyberwitch e-coven. Yeah, and there’s also a “fuck alley” folder because, yes, it’s okay to embrace sex-aesthetics. Just download it here, open a folder, and follow instructions. Sometimes, the results of your journeys end up making digital poetry.
How’s this work? Here’s what happened on my Foldscape quest this morning:

Step one: Opened the .ZIP file.

Step Two: Chose my fighter class.

Step Three: Opened a folder. Who wouldn’t be curious about “Fuck Alley”?

Step Five: Did I feel like taking a porn poetry quest? For me, maybe not so early in the morning. Back to this one later.

Step Six: Now this is my speed: delete some sand, make some poetry.

Step Seven: Shit! This is bad! Time to close my folders for now. See ya later, Foldscape. I’ll be back for “Fuck Alley.”
