This is exciting. Claire Danes, Emmy and Golden Globe winner of My So-Called Life fame, will be hosting a new program from Art21: Art in the 21st Century, which just entered its 8th year. According to Page Six, the show will see Danes profiling artists and the cities they live in, including Natalia Almada and Minerva Cuevas in Mexico City and Ed Arceneaux and Tala Madani in Los Angeles. We’re hoping the above GIF is indicative of her interview style. The show will air on PBS on September 16th and 23rd.

I wonder how this lines up with Danes’s Homeland filming schedule, which last year was shot in art-mecca Berlin and is rumored to be set in New York this coming season. I’m sure there’s a joke to be made about the CIA/Abstract Expressionism conspiracy theory here.
