Avoid Obvious Architects created this fantastical museum proposal for the city of Suncheon, South Korea. Traditionally, Korean museums are set in a natural landscape, but since Suncheon doesn’t have much open space, Avoid Obvious Architects propose an elevated structure that gives visitors a view of the sky. The coolest feature: it’s shaped like a crane so artists and curators can dangle artwork for the public to see from below.
Avoid Obvious Architects have other renderings on their website, which include a lot of CGI depicting what Jeff Koons sculptures would look like in the space. Apart from the balloon dogs, this would totally be my favorite place to see art.
