Shia LeBeouf Arrested, Art Teacher Suspended Over Separate Anti-Trump Video Art Incidents

Shia LeBeouf has been arrested at his anti-Trump installation at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens. This stems from what is apparently a separate scuffle from the one we mentioned earlier today, as the other person has been described as a fellow anti-Trump protester. It’s alleged that LeBeouf pulled on the man’s scarf, scratching his face in the process.

In the other confrontation, the actor-cum-performance artist shouted down a white supremacist who had intended to hijack his “He Will Not Divide Us” livestream. The installation is set to stream for the duration of Trump’s (hopefully short-lived) presidency. In true dystopian fashion, the arrest was caught on camera. (Um, shout out to the girl who thought showing us the neat sharpie heart on her palm was more important than letting us watch the drama unfold in its entirety.)

DIE

In a separate incident, Payal Modi, a highschool art teacher from Dallas, has been suspended after posting an 8-second anti-Trump video on Instagram. Her offense? Shouting “DIE!” while squirting a water gun at a video projection of Donald Trump. It appears she shot the video inside a classroom at W. H. Adamson High School and posted it to her private Instagram account.

Not only was this a private video, but based on the stills (the original has since been deleted) it looks like it was a shitty video. Modi is now under investigation following complaints to the school. It’s unclear whether or not any students were in the room.

I’d like to point out how often conservatives have criticized “liberal elitists” for being too sensitive to offensive content on campuses. Also, she’s just shooting a water pistol at a whiteboard… Trump has said he supports waterboarding at black sites. Get your priorities together people.
