In honor of MoMA’s new retrospective, Bruce Conner: It’s All True, we present a GIF from Conner’s 1976 film, “Take The 5:10 to Dreamland.” While the film is comprised of found footage, Conner did insert his hand by tinting it all with a sepia-tone that provides visual consistency. This GIF perfectly represents the sleepy in-between space that the title evokes. A flickering candle emits energy that is being transmitted, but how long until it’s extinguished?
