“celebs/internet ppl I’d totally fukk”

Prince

I’m not sure who took this photograph, but I like it. I also like that I found it listed under the title “celebs/internet ppl I’d totally fukk” on a Facebook profile. In an effort to do some real Internet “reporting”, I asked the user if she had taken the photograph herself, only to discover she had randomly found it on the web. Arguably in keeping with the aforementioned tradition of Internet style journalism, I did a quick web search using the terms “Prince” and “Underwear”, and after coming up with nothing, deemed the case unsolvable. Unless of course, any of you can identify this piece as either “art” or “random crappy picture.”

Self reflection: This post may well represent the most generous use of quotations in a single paragraph to appear on Art Fag City.

UPDATE: A special thanks to Jeff Sisson who found the site this image came from.  The term “prince shower” brought back our desired results.

Get thee to a record store! This was included as a poster in his album “Controversy”, proof as to what is lacking in the age of MP3s — the chance to have something absolutely confusing to look at while you listen to him sing “Do Me”. This photo doesn’t do the poster justice — there is all sorts of gross detail in his chest hair. And no one can EVER explain why there’s a cross in his shower.

i believe the poster is an insert from a Prince LP, though I don’t know which one. i believe this because i saw the poster once at the Cock displayed over the DJ booth, and a friend told me that his little sister (who was something like 12 at the time) had it and hung it on her wall.

I’ve seen that poster once before. About ten years ago a girlfriend of mine had it on her bathroom wall. She was a huge Prince fan. My favorite part of the image is the crucifix hung in the shower!

It may have been included in one of his albums, I forget where she told me she had found it.

I had that exact poster in high school – it came inside the Controversy EP.

I like that internet (and I guess the art world as well) has evolved enough to create situations where it can raise the question is this piece art or a random crappy photo.

This is the original poster that came in the album “Controversy”. It’s almost impossible to find a copy of this image online, how that girl found it is quite the feat.
