Carey Kirkella, Amanda Koster, photographer and founder of SalaamGarage
Tired of “Massive Links“? I only publish two in this edition, so I’ve retitled my post accordingly.
Normally I don’t post links to Microsoft sponsored events, but if it means helping a photographer win $50,000 bucks, I’ll do it! Carey Kirkella wants to photograph America’s Visionary Changemakers, a project documenting contemporary pioneers molding the American business model to reflect our values. Art professionals fall under the hood of innovators that will be photographed, so I’m all for it. Vote for her here, so she can win a little cash. [Kirkella’s image above]
Editors note: Kirkella has a personal connection to this blog, which may indicate some editorial bias.
In performance art news, Jennifer Jacobs spent a couple of hours posing as a guard at MoMA the other day. Wearing a red tie, the most defining feature of their uniform, a black pant suit, and a fake ID she had few problems fitting in. On this subject Jacobs observes, “I was surprised how well it worked just to act like I belonged there.” Link tip via: Steve Lambert
