As a recent transplant from Chicago, I recognize a few things the Second City has on New York; hot dogs, day jobs, affordable real estate, cheap booze, and most importantly the Tamale Guy. A fast food phenomenon knowing no parallel, the Tamale Guy occasionally wanders into dive bars serving up little pockets of Mexican goodness to drunk folk. This week’s BLE goes to the ingenious minds behind the Tamale Tracker, a user-generated Twitter account that tracks the Tamale Guy via @replies. Now, who says Twitter isn’t useful?
