POST BY PADDY JOHNSON
Andres Garcia-Pena, Williamsburg Bitch, 1896-1996 hundred year commemorative painting, oil on canvas, 43 1/2 x 43 1/2 inches, at Castle Braid Art Fair.
Miss Castle Braid‘s grand opening this Saturday in Bushwick? Us too, but fortunately its duration is unusually long, so New Yorkers have six more weeks to catch up with the art fair. Thanks to one particularly conscientious AFC tipster, prior to visiting the event ourselves, we can point readers to what may be the “worst painting seen.” We’re not so sure about this pick, though. Has he really given the suspension bridge tiara “The Bitch” enough credit?

A superior Robert Crumb inspired work!
This is so much better than the MTA’s usual subway art series and I look forward to seeing it in the subway cars soon – with one modification; I want a boy version. Perhaps leslie/lohman gallery already has that version ready to go for us?
