Defrosted: Walt Disney at Postmasters

Defrosted: A Life of Walt Disney
Date: Tuesday, June 29th 2010Friday, August 6th 2010
Venue: Postmasters459 West 19th Street

Adam Cvijanovic and David Humphrey have used what Postmaster’s press release calls their “warped but studious perspectives” to create an exhibition on the life of Disney. Working together, the artists have covered the walls with murals (Cvijanovic on landscape and Humphrey on figures) which teeter between wholesome and disturbing. The centerpiece is a structure decorated by a number of artists including Eva and Franco Mattes’ (aka 0100101110101101.org) hanged Mickey Mouse, Joyce Pensato’s destroyed cartoons and John Wesley’s sexy squirrels. This is all topped with a Will Cotton cake.
