Artist: Guillermo Kuitca
Sperone Westwater is worth the visit just for their new Norman Foster-designed space on the Bowery. Dubbed a “symposium of slickness” by the bloggers over at Curbed, the gallery inaugurates its space with Argentinean artist Guillermo Kuitca’s frequently blobby abstract paintings. Also, Le Sacre, a 1992 installation of 54 printed mattresses, will be on view in Sperone’s ever utilitarian “Moving Room,” a space that slowly travels back and forth between the second and third floors.
