Art Fag City seeks an administrative intern for the winter semester. Ideal candidates have a strong interest in visual art and digital media, are proficient in MS Office, Quickbooks, and Excel, and possess excellent writing skills. Applicants should also be extremely organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented. Photoshop knowledge is a plus, but not necessary.
Interns will work directly with AFC Editorial Director Paddy Johnson to support all administrative aspects of running an art blog, from content management to book keeping and event planning. The position offers valuable hands-on experience in the fast-growing world of digital media, and in-depth insight into a prestigious online publication. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend private tours and panel discussions as well as write original content for the blog.
- Managing invoices, accounts receivable and payable
- Keeping track of all receipts and petty cash
- Prospect research and development support
- Event planning (particularly for our upcoming benefit)
- Sound of Art inventory management
- Project-based research
Applicants should expect to make a commitment of 10-20 hours per week, although some work can be done remotely. Candidates who have or are working towards a degree in Arts Administration are preferred. This position is unpaid.
