- Baer Faxt reports that Sterling Ruby is leaving Pace Gallery. Where could he be going? If true (and we have no reason to doubt Baer Faxt), that’s a serious blow to the gallery: Ruby was a recruit of Pace scion (if such a term can be used of a 47-year-old) Marc Glimcher, and a figurehead for the gallery’s continuing relevance. [Baer Faxt, subscription-only. ArtINFO relayed the news, and the WSJ had a good piece about Pace’s attempts to reinvigorate its stable last fall]
- Art writers have been lining up to file their opinion pieces about Damien Hirst; it’s sort of like tax season for people who don’t have money. According to an AFC office poll I just conducted, we like Katy Siegel’s best. [Artforum]
- Adulthood is when you check the New York Times for what the kids are up to. Apparently now they’re sharing passwords as a sign of fidelity. [NYTimes]
- Critic Barbara Pollack, at Artnet, reports from Occupy Museums’s visit to MoMA. [Artnet, and our own report]
- AFC friend and photographer Marsha Owett has her work featured in Deep Sleep Magazine. Check. it. out. [Deep Sleep]
