SEVEN To Participate in Spring Art Fairs

Well, good. Postmasters’ Magda Sawon announced over Twitter yesterday, that SEVEN will participate in New York’s upcoming fairs. This means we’ll have at least one event to attend that resembles an actual exhibition, in addition to Frieze and Pulse, which run May 4th through 7, and 3rd through 6th, respectively. SEVEN launches April 28th and runs through the middle of May.

Participating galleries include BravinLee, HalesP.P.O.W.Postmasters, Pierogi, Ronald Feldman and Winkleman. This stable has remained the same since their debut at Art Basel two years ago, though their foray into Brooklyn marks an expansion of the group’s efforts outside Miami. The show will take place at the Pierogi Boiler Room in Williamsburg; each gallery will present the work of one artist.

Organizers are betting they’ll be able to draw plenty of collectors out to Williamsburg, an expectation that makes sense given that the Frieze Art Fair debuts on Randall Island. If people can make the trip out there they can figure out how to get to Brooklyn. Coincidentally, SEVEN is the first Brooklyn art fair the blog will cover in our 6 years of blogging. To my knowledge, it’s the first of its kind.
