Ahhh, beautiful Bushwick. Photo by Jeremy Sapienza.

Want to meet New York’s best curators, writers, and gallerists in your studio? Of course you do! So register for the 2012 Bushwick Open Studios before their May 3rd deadline and make sure you don’t miss the potential opportunity. Each year, the event attracts an increasing number of art world professionals out to discover the latest Bushwick talent. If you’re in town Friday, June 1st, through the evening of Sunday, June 3rd, we expect to see your art.

Even artists without a Bushwick studio can participate in BOS. The Arts in Bushwick has a Craigslist-style page for artists seeking spaces, galleries needing artists, and artists with too much studio space. Anything that can be turned into an exhibition space (a storefront, sidewalk, gallery, or even someone’s kitchen) will be deemed an open studio by BOS.

That’s a lot of flood gates open for one event, so we’ll be doing our best to find the strongest open studios for readers. We’ll not only release our picks for this year’s open studios in advance of the event, but will provide ongoing coverage of what we find over the course of the weekend.

Ready to register? Just send an email to openstudios@artsinbushwick.org by May 3rd and the Arts in Bushwick staff will send you a registration code. See you in June!

AFC Goes to Bushwick Open Studios is generously supported by the Brooklyn Arts Council.
