Roundtable: Art Writing as Craft, Labor, and Art, Housing Works
Given the fact that you don’t get paid and nobody reads you, why are more and more people trying to become arts writers? For some, it’s passion, and you’re likely to find a lot of it in Arts and Labor’s round table. The Village Voice’s (and Arts and Labor’s) Martha Schwendener, ARTInfo’s socially-engaged go-to Ben Davis, and AFC’s own beating heart Paddy Johnson are among the list.

Chelsea Sound: Printed Matter
As Art Fag City’s Corinna Kirsch wrote last week, this Saturday hails the first annual artists’ music festival. Chelsea Sound is the collaborative product of Printed Matter, Eyebeam, Electronic Arts Intermix, and Family Business, so you know this is gonna be done right. And if the sound of art is something you’re interested in, then do we have an album for you.
2 – 9 PM, 195 10th Avenue
