Good afternoon, Wienerfest lovers large and small! Today I come with great Wienerfest tidings. For this week only, we’re offering a special early-bird rate on all general-admission tickets of $55 per person, a reduction from our regular $90 rate. That price includes all-you-can-eat wieners, all-you-can-drink beer and Titos vodka, special wieners from Jay Batlle and Michael Mahalchick, and a ten dollar donation to Smack Mellon, an artist residency and exhibition program that suffered serious damage in Hurricane Sandy. This wiener bacchanal will take place Sunday, December 16th, 3-7PM at Postmasters, so it’s time to mark your calendars.
The only thing this price doesn’t include is raffle tickets, a boon for out of town readers who are yearning to support AFC while lightly indulging their urge to gamble and smoke tobacco-like substances. We’re raffling off our first ceramic art bong by Jesse Edwards! I can’t wait to see who wins this piece!
The Wienerfest is sure to be the strangest Christmas party you’ll ever attend, but it’s also absolutely essential for what we do here. Events like this ensure that Art Fag City continues to produce the high quality, daily content and criticism you’ve come to expect.
Now, all that sounds a little boilerplate fundraiser-like, but it’s the truth. So I hope you’ll join me. As I mentioned last week, we’ve got a Signature Wiener to name; come December 16th, criticism just won’t be the same.
