We know what we’re doing this week. We’re stopping by this summer’s neo-feminist-queer-sex-positive-anti-institutional performance festival “Emergency Glitter,” which, among many others, features AFC’s own roommate Rebecca Patek.
For four nights, she’s performing ineter(a)nal f/ear: an experimental dance exploring how violence and sexual assault can replicate itself in its victims. Last year, The New York Times’ Gia Kourlas commended Patek’s work about the art world as pointedly confrontational. We have yet to see this one ourselves, but from the sounds we’ve heard through the wall, we can assure you this is not gonna be pretty. That’s probably the point. Get ready for some real art.
Patek’s performing Wednesday through Saturday at 10 PM, at Abrons Art Center, 466 Grand Street, Lower East Side. Tickets cost $15 each.
