- The Moscow Biennial curator Catherine de Zegher argues that we shouldn’t boycott the biennial because of Russia’s anti-gay laws, as it would “deprive younger people of … different points of view.” Whether those voices will express opposition to those laws, though, we’ll have to see; de Zegher keeps reiterating that she wants the biennial to focus on collaborative work rather than “cheap provocations,” wanting art to be in “nobody’s face.” We’ll wait til it opens, but that doesn’t sound like a very convincing argument for not boycotting.
