Color Wheel is a series in which we identify a trending color in art, and post a daily image that illustrates its popularity. This week’s color is white.
The polar vortex has an art show. This winter, Videorover falls to the unwavering hands of Nicholas O’Brien, and his theme is winter. The program, says the press release, will “bring about a hopeful warmth not just to battle the impending chilliness, but also to light the fire of a collective hearth.” O’Brien’s manipulating our common suffering, but we’re cold. Hearth us, please.
This season includes videos by Alison Ballard, Rachelle Beaudoin, Bianca Boragi, Javier Bosques, Jonathan Johnson, Tamara Johnson, Zohar Kfir, Joy McKinney, Mores McWreath + Cathy Park Hong, David Politzer, Michael Szpakowski, Sam Winks, and Magdalen Wong. It runs through June 6th at NurtureArt.

Hey Whitney,
What about my shiny, porcelain masterpiece?

White and black and read all over t’aint! it my friend. Godammit what does it take with you people? oh wait that’s because you’re part of the academy. You’re part of the Modern|Marcel|Warhol academy. Congrats. Way to keep it alive because you can’t imagine art beyond your narrow confine of objective meaning. “See an object = be an object” Too afraid to realize that art can be emotional too. Art can be a person trying to connect to someone else beyond the confines of an academic agenda..
btw I like the image.
