The METRO Show is an innovative art fair offering the fairgoer a dynamic mix of genres throughout history. From ethnographic to abstract art, from outsider to Pop Art, folk art to decorative arts, the fair’s message is one of inclusion – that great ideas, great art and great design are best when presented creatively side by side in an integrated fashion.
This year the fair introduces METRO Curates, in which each of the 37 participating galleries offers a curated single-artist or themed exhibit of artwork.
New participants include: Allan Stone Projects, Douglas Dawson Gallery, Michael Klein Arts, Perimeter Gallery, Jerald Melberg Gallery, David Findlay, Jr. Gallery and Morgan Lehman Gallery, among others.
The DIALOGUES educational series this year is called “Collecticism”, and focuses on the way that institutions, curators, private collectors and dealers search out and choose works of art, especially those collections that cross genres. The series was organized this year by Randall Morris/Cavin-Morris Gallery and includes an all-star cast of participants, including: Massimiliano Gioni, Lynne Cooke, Leslie Umberger, Valerie Rousseau, Tom Patterson, and Jeff Wolf.
