One of the nice things about having around four gifs on the front page at any given time, is you get a chance to look at them for extended periods of time. This GIF just gets better over time and a lot of that is the crisp movement of the falling cloth, back to its floating position. The appeal reminds me a little of this youtube cat video, Sail: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Awf45u6zrP0&feature=kp There’s a vine out there too that would probably be even more appropriate (for some reason I was only bring up vinebox).
Anyway, I’ve definitely noticed that some of the GIFs we post here have a much longer life on the page than others. In other words, there’s some sort of GIF equivalent to a painting that has “wall power”. I’m not sure what it would be called though.
