Pizza GIFs have been co-opted by The Man. This week, DiGiorno Pizza posted these psychedelic slices on Tumblr. Their caption: “Take it slice and cheesy.” Over 30,000 people have liked or shared this simple GIF. Pizza + GIFs = great marketing tool.

I was intrigued to see a news story last night while waiting for a haircut about the rise of burger chains like Shake Shack; the story claimed there are half as many pizza parlors as burger joints in America. Perhaps a part of pizza’s cool is its appearance of being the edgy alternative to a hamburger? I’ll leave that question for the philosophers
I don’t understand food trends.
I think the popularity of pizza in net art, though, can be explained by the fact that it’s super delivery friendly. Developers often work late and eat crap as a result.
