Electric Objects, makers of an internet-connected digital art display that can be hung like a painting, have announced a new fun for commissioning digital artworks. The Electric Objects Art Club Fund will provide $100,000 for new projects in 2016.
There’s an open call that will fund 30 artists working in JPGs, GIFs, PNGs, MP4s or art websites. The selected artists will receive a $500 honorarium, promotion of their work, and the company’s display E01 Plus, which retails for $399.
Paddy once said of Electric Objects “This could be a game changer for the digital arts” and I’m inclined to agree… collectors can now have affordable access to changeable, exhibition-quality displays for otherwise ethereal works. As this market grows, this is a great opportunity for exposure, so apply!
All applications must be submitted by midnight EST on Friday, April 1st.
