Venue: Museum of Modern Art, 11 West 53rd Street
Culinary history buffs in the city will love this. MoMA breaks out Counter Space: Design and The Modern Kitchen, which promises to highlight the “Frankfurt Kitchen.” Designed in 1926—27 by the architect Grete Schütte-Lihotzky, this model is one of the most important advancements in Kitchen design for its integrated approach to storage, appliances, and work surfaces. Also on view will be a 1968 mobile fold-out unit manufactured by the Italian company Snaidero, and a wide variety of kitchen objects, architectural plans, and photographs from MoMA’s collection.

Counter Space explores the avant-grade transformation of the kitchen and highlights contempo accretion of an almighty complete archetype of the iconic Frankfurt Kitchen, advised in 1926-27 by the artist Grete Schtte-Lihotzky.
